in the pool or on the reef
Key West is a tropical paradise and so much more. For nearly two centuries, it's been an outpost in the American Caribbean where all types of people- Conchs, Cubans, writers, wreckers, gays and straights- have lived together in harmony.
Visit Key West for spring break, and you'll notice that it's unlike anywhere else. From rainbow flags flown all over town to welcoming residents, you'll feel at home regardless of your politics or persuasion. The official city motto is "One Human Family," and gay men and lesbians live open, out lives as an integral part of the fabric of the town. People in Key West, whether residents or visitors, are not separated by neighborhoods or ideology.
The island has a certain sexy sophistication. Wake up in the morning and go to a Cuban Cafe with your friends to pick up a cafe con leche. During the afternoon, go snorkeling on a clothing optional catamaran trip or lay out in the sun on the sandy beaches or at a guesthouse next to a pool. Catch a nap in the late afternoon before heading out for dinner, and then spend the rest of the night in world-class cabarets and watch drag shows prior to dancing the night away in Key West's clubs.
In Key West, you are free to be exactly who you are.
